One of the world’s leading institutions dedicated to contemporary design in every form—from architecture and fashion to graphics and industrial innovation. The museum was relocated to its current home in Kensington in 2016, inside the striking former Commonwealth Institute building.
Its mission is to showcase how design shapes modern life, highlighting both iconic objects and forward-thinking ideas.
Inside, visitors can explore a mix of permanent and temporary exhibitions that cover everything from product design and digital technology to sustainable solutions for global challenges.
The museum is located right off High Street Kensington (Nearest tube) so is the perfect place to take in a bit of culture, followed by some shopping. There are plenty of places nearby to eat including along the High Street itself, of the cafe within Holland Park. See also event listings for the Kyoto garden which is the other side of the park.
