Lightroom

Lightroom is an immersive art and entertainment venue in Coal Drops Yard, King’s Cross. Rather than a traditional gallery, it uses floor-to-ceiling projection across four 11-metre walls and the floor, paired with spatial sound, to place visitors inside artist-led stories.

What’s on Larger Than Life: Starring Wallace & Gromit, Shaun and More — Now showing until Monday 4 January 2027. An immersive celebration of Aardman Animations’ 50-year history, featuring Wallace & Gromit, Shaun the Sheep and other much-loved characters, with iconic moments, behind-the-scenes archive material and bespoke animation. Tickets start from £25.

David Bowie: You’re Not Alone — Now showing until Sunday 10 January 2027. An immersive audiovisual experience exploring David Bowie’s life, music and creative legacy through iconic performances, rarely seen interviews and previously unseen archive material, projected across Lightroom’s spectacular 11-metre-high walls. Tickets start from £25.

Matisse: Joy — Wednesday 27 January to Saturday 8 May 2027. An immersive exploration of Henri Matisse’s art, from his iconic paintings to his radical paper cut-outs, alongside new work by British-Nigerian artist and designer Yinka Ilori. Tickets start from £25.

Before you go Lightroom is at 12 Lewis Cubitt Square, King’s Cross, London N1C 4DY, a short walk from King’s Cross St Pancras. It is open Monday, Thursday–Saturday and Sunday; closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Evening opening is available Thursday to Saturday.

Shows run on a loop, rather than starting at a fixed time, and entry slots are generally sold every 30 minutes. Arrive no more than 15 minutes before your slot. Seating is unallocated and may be limited, so expect to stand or move around the space. A £2 transaction fee is added per booking. Families can receive 15% off selected daytime slots when booking three or more tickets. Lightroom also schedules BSL and relaxed performances for selected shows; check the venue’s accessibility information before booking if reduced sound, lower lighting or other adjustments would help.
